The rate is set by your basket total, including tax:
- ¥10,000 – ¥29,9993% off
- ¥30,000 – ¥49,9995% off
- ¥50,000 and above7% off
Each tier has its own QR code on the coupon. On top comes tax-free shopping, which removes the 10% consumption tax — 8% on some products. At the top tier, the two together come to up to 17% off.

Tsuruha Drug stores nationwide. The group ran 2,584 stores in Japan and 18 in Thailand as of October 2022.
Every store has free wi-fi, which is useful if you are travelling without a local data plan.

Good to know
Tsuruha counts its thresholds on the tax-inclusive total, while Sundrug uses the tax-exclusive total. If you are close to a threshold, the two chains count differently. From 1 November 2026, Japan's tax-free system changes from a point-of-sale exemption to a refund collected at the airport on departure. Check the current terms in store.
